REVIEW: Acteurs - s/t

9.25 out of 10

If you're wondering what may be the best Industrial/Experimental album of the year start with Acteurs debut s/t LP. If you like sounds reminiscent of Ike Yard, Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten, Coil, maybe a few different Black Box bands;] + pure factory assembled deviant noise (of course you do), you-will-LOVE(andoverandoverandoverandover)-Acteurs.

Acteurs are not "Industrial", Acteurs ARE Industrial in it truest sense. "Raw-Mech"; live digital manipulations are layered and looped into cohesive madness. Deep kicks, thumps clicks, bleeps, white/factory noise, drones, menacing bass lines, and monotonous vocals/samples (for the sake of extra exotic-androgynous percussion) make for insidious harmonies. The mood is bleak, the atmosphere is dark, I like what I hear. Who knew an actor could be an engineer?

I have this terrible feeling that these sounds (they are experimental) may not be for your "everyday listener".. One day though I hope we can all join in headphones for dins such as these. I dream of a future where all public noises are replaced by the ones found on this album.

Standout Tracks: (ALL.) Cloud Generating, Lowow, Golden Rabbit
