REVIEW: Bon Accord - Honeydew EP

8.25 out of 10
Find it here.

Bon Accord is a fresh new act off of the terrific up and coming fresh new label Jukboxr (who is also home to Glass Vaults--whom released one of the most amazing albums of the year). Bon Accord is Michael Wright based out of London. Mike constructs a mixture of Indie Electronic music with Chill Wave and Dancey Electronica plus a little bit of awesome (ok a lot).

"Honeydew" is an impressive debut to say the very least. From track one to the last (track 4) the listener should be at ease. They have somewhat of an uplifting breezy feeling to them. You can easily relax at home while listening to these OR you could go on a fast car ride to nowhere and just enjoy life. Either way these tracks have something for everyone (with ears that is). If the term "Chillwave" turns you off, have no fear. Rather than just a guy recording Lo-Fi 80's Electro in Slow-mo, Bon Accord offers a healthy dose of futuristic Dance sounds (think Sinner DC meets Wild Nothing--it works trust me) with the ability to chill you out. The first two tracks on this EP are splendid (very much so), the last two..oh my, the last two. Song's like "French Letter" and "Happy People" only come around so often. You know the type, where a song gives you goosebumps cuz it's so right for you? Just go get this now(IT'S FREE!!), stop wasting your time with my words, I love this EP..you shouldwill too.

I strongly recommend you get this EP RIGHT NOW. It's one of the best releases of the year. It's great for nearly any mood AND.. it's free. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. (oh and also, Bon Accord just released another equally amazing freebie, check it out HERE:)

Standout Tracks: All, but ESPECIALLY; French Letter, Happy People
