EIC'S10Q'S w/Innaway

In 2005 a little known band from California released one of the best Psychedelic records since the late 60's. I worked at a local record store at the time, and if I played their album in store it was a guaranteed sale..

Innaway
Stoner-Rock revivalists with a modern edge

Innaway Bio:
Innaway is an American psychedelic rock band from Southern California formed in 2001. In 2002, their demo was pressed in limited quantities by German label Audiolith Records but there wasn't a US release until 2005 when Some Records released a self-titled album by the band. Critical reviews were positive for the debut with music critic John Brady selecting it as one of the top three records of 2005 for NPR's Day to Day show. The band then spent some time on the road supporting the album touring with likes of Echo & the Bunnymen and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. In 2007 they released a 12" E.P. on Prime Directive Records and began work on their second album for Some Records which will be titled "Album of the Ear." The band recently toured with the reunited Rival Schools.

Hello, how are you?
Doing fine sir...Living in NY and welcoming in the spring...

What are you currently listening to?

It seems it‘s been a while since your debut has come out ..will “Album Of The Ear“ ever see the light of day?
Yes! We are sussing things out with our label...not sure about the title though...its between that and "Conversations In a Dream."

Has the general direction of the band stayed the same or should we expect “changes” with your new album?
I'd say the direction is overall the same...lyrically better...definitely a different approach to production...more of a band in a room playing together feel...

Should we expect a full blown US tour shortly after?
Yes sir!

Where was best show you ever played ..and why?
We played a show in the desert just outside of Victorville, CA...Because we were in the desert under the stars with drugs playing music...

On your debut album it sounds like you utilized a lot of different fx/pedals ..do you use all of those live?
We phased out the drum machine, but other than that we bring all the same sounds from our debut album to our live shows...the Farfisa Compact Organ has made its way into a lot of stuff lately...

Ever thought about doing an acoustic set?
Nope...

You can only keep/listen to ONE album for the rest of your life ..which album would it be?
Velvet Underground "Loaded."

Are you living your dream?
In my dream I dream about dreams...

Thanks Innaway!

Innaway are currently finishing up their second full length album, look for that in late 2009...
