REVIEW: Current 93 - Birth Canal Blues

8 out of 10

Current 93 front man David Tibet has been alluring ours ears with his version of "Experimental Neo-Gothic-Industrial-Classical-Folk" music for over 20 years now. "Birth Canal Blues" is his latest ep in which he dives face first into the mournful side of piano and experimental vocal treatments.

"Birth Canal Blues" is four track offering of the true genius that Mr. Tibet possesses. This is minimal/classically influenced piano melodies underneath over eccentric/distorted folk dialogues, and estranged tones.

Haunting and calming, stay on your feet with this release. One minute you will feel relaxed from the gorgeous, almost lounge inspired, piano melodies. The next you may feel completely uncomfortable by the haughty vocal layers. Either way you will hopefully appreciate the emotional impact this album can have on you.

Standout Tracks: All of these tracks are pretty stunning.
